AirPods Pro 2 announced by Apple
Apple today announced a new generation of AirPods while also launching the second generation of AirPods Pro (AirPods Pro 2). The most advanced version of the wireless earbuds, AirPods Pro include breakthrough audio performance, along with Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode. Now, you can use Touch control for media playback and volume adjustments right on the stem of your headphones. Additionally, customers can now experience longer battery life with these new headphones-as well as an additional ear tip size to fit more comfortably.
AirPods Pro 2 availability
AirPods Pro (2nd generation) or AirPods Pro 2 will be available to purchase online and through the Apple Store app starting on September 9, with availability in stores beginning on September 23.

H2 Chip
The new H2 chip enables the AirPods Pro to deliver a richer, more accurate sound and cancels out up to twice as much noise. AirPods Pro 2 are now equipped with low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier, and offer a range of sounds that works for everyone even those with smaller ear canals. For a complete experience, an extra small ear tip is included so more people can enjoy the audio you love.
Transparency mode eliminates the distractions around you by letting you tune out loud sounds. Adaptive Transparency is now capable of processing everything even on your device to reduce ambient noise like your surroundings and it is more sensitive than ever before, thanks to the new H2 chip.

Immersive Sound
With Personalized Spatial Audio, you ’ll enjoy a more immersive listening experience as the AirPods hear sound individually based on the size and shape of your head and ears. With three-dimensional audio using a TrueDepth camera, you can experience personalized sounds within movies, music and TV shows. Dynamic head tracking enables users to enjoy an innovative listening experience across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
Features
After using the AirPods Pro, the magical experience users loved from the previous model will even improve. Setup is effortless and dedicated in the Settings on your iOS device, where you’ll never have to reach for your AirPods controller again.
Now, with the improved built-in skin sensor, you can control playback without use of another device. You can now start or stop playing music just by swiping up or down on the stem and adjusting the volume, answer phone calls with a swipe or say “Hey Siri” to make requests hands free. The improved battery life also improves your touch experience.

Battery Life
AirPods Pro offer 1.5 hours more listening time over the first generation, providing the user with up to six hours total of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation. They also have four additional charges for the case and would provide up to 30 hours of total listening time, exclusively with Active Noise Cancellation.
Customers can now charge AirPods Pro 2 with a variety of chargers, including the Apple Watch charger, MagSafe charger, Qi-certified charging mat or Lightning cable.
AirPods Pro 2 come with a new charging case that is water- and sweat-resistant, comes with a lanyard loop so it’s easy to find, and provides Precision Finding technology that allows you to locate your AirPods with a U1-enabled iPhone. The charging case now comes with a built-in speaker to ensure smooth delivery of louder tones, which makes it easier to find.
Now, customers can personalize their charging case with a personalized Memoji, including custom posed Memojis and stickers. In order to begin the engraving process, go here and create your Memoji and upload it.

AirPods pro 2 feature materials and components that minimize environmental impact. The AirPods pro 2 use reclaimed resources for the most important components, including 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, 100 percent recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit boards and tin in the solder of the main logic board. Redesigned packaging eliminates the outer plastic wrap and 90% or more of the packaging is made using fiber-based materials.
Today, Apple is expanding its company’s commitment to being carbon neutral worldwide. By 2030, Apple will be completely carbon neutral for all of their operations and product life cycles, with every Apple device contributing to global climate change as a net zero for the environment.

Pricing and Availability
- AirPods Pro 2nd Generation will be available to order from apple.com/store and from Apple stores this coming Friday with availability in stores beginning Friday, September 23.
- AirPods (3rd generation), which support both the Lightning and MagSafe charging cases, are now available for $169 in the US. AirPods (3rd gen.), which still accept the MagSafe case but no longer support the Lightning case, are available for $179.
- Customers can get Memoji letters (short for emojis) on AirPods in the Apple Store app. This allows them to personalize their AirPods case or upgrade their AirPods case.
- Apple does not want to miss out on the huge popularity of their AirPods and is now giving one year of free music for a limited time with the purchase of any AirPods or AirPods Pro. With this, Apple wants to be sure that they do not lose out on subscribers who are easily swayed by a good offer.
