Pokemon Presents: Everything you need to know
The latest Pokemon Presents showcased upcoming titles, as well as info on ongoing and still-popular titles like Unite and Go. There was even a brief appearance from Mewtwo, who was shown loving tapas.
Here are the major reveal during the finale.
Pokemon Go- Ultra Beast Pokemon are arriving soon
The Pokemon Company released a major announcement, announcing that Ultra Beast Pokemon will be arriving in the game on August 26th.
Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa and Xurkitree will be the first beasts to arrive.
Pokemon Unite
In the future, new Pokemon are coming to Unite, including Glaceon, Ultra Beast Buzzwole, and Tyranitar. In 2017 there was a second wave of new friends released with three more Pokemon added.
Pikachu is a new character that you can use in Pika Party battles. The Pikachu meta no longer has preset parameters and each party member is now Pikachu, including enemies as well as allies. Every encounter is adorable.
In addition to this announcement, it was also revealed in the third anniversary update of Pokemon Masters EX that players will be able to explore a trainer lodge.
Pokemon Cafe Remix
Mewtwo has been chosen to be a part of the Pokemon Cafe Remix staff. They’re always hungry and they want food continuously. If you do them proud, they’ll join your team behind the counter!
Pokemon Violet & Pokemon Scarlet
The biggest part of the Pokemon Presents was dedicated to the upcoming adventures Scarlet and Violet, which had a lot of news.
- The new land of Scarlet and Violet was named Paldea.
- Legendary Pokemon were revealed as rideable for your game, being able to traverse land, sea and sky. They go through some kind of transformation phase when they’re on their bikes. It appears that you’ll get to use these creatures early in the game.
- New Pokemon were revealed yesterday including a bread-like dog Pokemon named Fidough, a towering, spiky beast called Cetitan, and pandean variant called Wooper.
- A lot of Pokemon can also change their type with the powerful move known as Terastallization. This moves changes a Pokemon and gives him or her a Swarovski-like crystal, like some of the Pokémon’s head adornments. Some Pokémon will change types when evolving.
- Some new characters have been added to the game, including a gym leader named Grusha and director of the academy, Mr Clavell. There is also home room teacher, Mr Jacq and upperclassman, Arven. Penny is also new and shy student that you meet in your class.
- The game will place emphasis on completing eight different gym challenges, as in standard Pokemon games. Now, through exploring the world, players can explore in whatever order they please and tackle gyms in their own fashion. The game focuses on open-world exploration and free-style player options.
- There will also be other stories available as well, which are found during the Pokemon Present story. The narrator indicated that there would be secrets within these other stories, which could only be reached during PvP adventures.
